Job Summary

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance at recreational facilities by enforcing rules, modeling positive behavior, and serving as a friend and mentor for other young people.

  • Encourage people to participate in activities and form healthy relationships by greeting and introducing new members, encouraging group activities, and providing oversight to ensure everyone is treated fairly.

  • Physical - set up and take down tables, chairs, food, washing dishes, etc. for community dinners

  • Help with Church building and grounds work that can include weeding flower beds, picking up trash, taking out trash, church cleaning, etc.  

  • Be on time for each work day

  • Foster collaboration and leadership among participants by adding activities that promote teamwork and encouraging participants to actively pursue responsibility.

  • Work with your team leaders to create a great work experience 

Job Skills & Qualifications

Required:

  • Community Dinners workers must be age 13-16 years old

  • Attention to detail and ability to solve problems quickly and responsibly

  • Excellent communication skills 

  • Must have transportation to and from Community Dinners on the date scheduled to work

  • Team Leaders must be age 16-20 years old and have participated in program in the past

  • Must have valid email address that is checked regularly

Calvary UP Church hires teens each year to help with our Summer Community Dinners.  The community dinners will be held at the church every Sunday from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm. Staff should report at 3:30 pm.  Roughly 3 hours of work each week.  You will be responsible for setting up tables, bringing out meals, setting up tents, washing dishes, etc.  There will be a total of 4 workers MOST weeks.  We expect each employee to be on time and responsible for reporting any schedule changes at least (1) week prior to event.   The community dinners will start on June 12th, 2022 and end on August 28th, 2022.  You will not work every Sunday however if hired, we will need to know the days that you are unavailable to work.  The schedule will be made and sent to each teen via email for the entire season.

This year we will go back to hosting our community dinners on our front lawn at Calvary.  There will be an option to take the meals to go but we will not have the driver thru this year.
